Features of the Swing Indicator
Information Bar
The Information Bar runs along the top of the Swing Indicator. This bar always displays player information: the name of the current golfer and the distance between the hole and where the current golfer's ball is currently lying. Click and drag on the Information Bar to move the Swing Indicator anywhere in the Game Window.
If you move the cursor onto the Player Name in the Information Bar and then click and hold, a second bar will pop up and display hole information: the number of the hole, the total yardage from the tee to the hole and par for the hole. Release the mouse to make this second bar go away.
Swing Lines
The Swing Indicator contains horizontal lines which divide a swing into four quarters: 1/4 Swing Line, 1/2 Swing Line, 3/4 Swing Line, and Full Swing Line. Swing Lines are blue-dotted horizontal lines and the red horizontal line is the Hit Line. Use these lines as guides for judging distance when pulling back your club. Be aware that it is not only the distance pulled back that determines how far your ball will travel -- other factors such as speed, direction, terrain and weather conditions, club selected and spin can greatly influence your shot.
1/4 Swing Line
This line marks the minimum distance you need to pull back your club in order for the swing to register. It is also referred to as the default line.
1/2 Swing Line
This line marks the halfway point for your swing.
3/4 Swing Line
This line marks the three-quarter way point for your swing.
Full Swing Line
Once your club passes the Full Swing Line on the Swing Indicator, this is the most potential force your swing can muster. Normally, you should pull back behind the Full Swing Line for all Drives and when playing from the sand or rough.
Shot Selector
The bottom bar of the Swing Indicator is the Shot Selector. Click and hold on this bar and a menu of shots will pop up. Slide the cursor to the desired shot type and release the mouse button.
Club Selector
The single gray box in the corner of the Swing Indicator shows the current club in use. As you take shots, the electronic caddie will choose a club for you or you can override the caddie's selection and make your own choice. Click and hold on the gray box showing the club in use and a menu of all available clubs will pop up. Slide your cursor to the club of your choice and release the mouse button.
Club Head
The club head image in the Swing Indicator will change depending on the current club selected.
Trace Line
A blue line will trace the forward (upward) path taken by your club. It highlights the direction of your swing. The trace line will remain until you take another swing. You can turn off the Trace Lines by unchecking the Show Trace option in the Swing Options Menu (under the "O" in the Swing Indicator).

Options Menu
Click and hold on the "O" in the Swing Indicator and the Swing Options Menu will pop up. Without releasing the mouse button, move your cursor to the option you wish to turn off or on, and then release the mouse button. An "X" next to the option indicates that option is turned on.
MouseSwing (TM)
When checked, the Swing Indicator is set for the Maxis MouseSwing. When unchecked, the Swing Indicator changes appearance somewhat and will operate using a Powerbar swing.
Previous Trace
When checked, a blue line will trace the path of the club in the Swing Indicator after each swing. A new trace will be drawn as each new swing is taken. When unchecked, no blue trace line will be drawn in the Swing Indicator.
Hide During Flight
When checked, this option makes the Swing Indicator temporarily disappear after you swing and the ball is in flight. Hiding the Swing Indicator will give you an unobstructed view of the shot.
Mouse Aiming
When checked, this option sets the left mouse button to aim the golfer in any direction. To aim, press and hold the mouse button and move the cursor anywhere in the Game Window. Animated golf balls will show the aiming direction. Release the mouse button and the golfer will pivot in the indicated direction.
Spin Adjusters
The Spin Adjusters are the two tiny white circles on the right edge and bottom edge of the Swing Indicator. Drag the Top/Bottom Spin Adjuster up and down to adjust the height trajectory of your shot. Drag the Left/Right Spin Adjuster from side-to-side to angle the clubface, which puts right or left spin on the ball.
Mode Indicator
The Mode Indicator is located just above the Top/Bottom Spin Adjuster. It will be stamped with a letter "G," which indicates you are in Golf Mode, or with a "P," which indicates you are in Practice Mode. Since the Swing Indicator shrinks to an icon when you are in Walk Mode, there is no "W" to indicate you are in Walk Mode.
